Since 1985, The Education Fund has worked side-by-side with the private sector to direct resources where they are needed most in Miami-Dade schools. Their mission is to design and implement initiatives to improve our schools and bring excellence to public education in Miami-Dade.

One Community One Goal: Jobs for Youth
The One Community One Goal® (OCOG®) initiative of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is a public/private partnership that includes the collaboration of the Miami-Dade Office of the Mayor, the business community, civic leaders, local colleges and universities, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Since 1996 OCOG® has created a proactive economic development plan for Miami-Dade County to develop, high skill, high wage jobs in key growth industries. These key industries include film and entertainment, biomedical, financial services, visitor, and information technology/telecommunications.
South Florida Workforce Stay In School Program
Youth Program
The South Florida Workforce assists at-risk youths ages 14-21 to continue their education and training in order to advance their skills and pursue the best job possible. In-school and out-of-school programs are run through Career Centers and select schools offering the "In-School" Program.
Florida's Official GED Website
The GED Tests provide adults with
an opportunity to earn a high school diploma that will enable
them to obtain jobs or advancement, enroll in higher education
or technical training or fulfill a lifelong goal. Adults who successfully pass the GED Tests in Florida
are awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma. |
