The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center
provides a full range of general library services to the immediate
community. It serves as a research library and cultural center
for scholars, students and the general public, and contains
more than 75,000 books, documents,artifacts and related materials
that focus on the experiences of people of African descent.
Local history is a cornerstone of the available resources.
The auditorium and exhibit areas provide a forum to exchange
ideas and cultural values, and to promote an understanding
and appreciation of the contributions of persons of African
descent.
